Sound not working in my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 5 and I went to play my music out loud and the sound is not working. I've switched the mute switch each way and there's no difference and the volume and everything his right up. The sound does work though with earphones so I'm not sure what is wrong?

Everything else is working fine
It is a contract phone and I do have insurance on it so what can I do?

Have you tried turning it off then on again?

Same happened with me when left in bathroom while I had shower and it got damp, cost me £25, check how much your excess is to pay on your insurance if you have any, then check how much it will cost to repair in any repair shop (usually in markets) then choose cheapest option.

Press home+power keys together until apple logo pops up then let go… Work now?

if not, last chance is a itunes restoral… Work now?

if not, call applecare or carrier to file an insurance replacement… Try AppleCare first to see if they will replace the phone for free due to warranty on a factory defect

  • YouTube sound not working when iphone is on silent? I've had my iPhone 4 for over a year now, and I've never had this problem. It started today, if I try to watch a YouTube video without headphones and the phone is on silent, there's no audio. But if I turn the ringer on there's audio. Obviously I've looked at the volume levels, and they're up. Like i said its only started today and it's very frustrating!

  • What do i do if the sound for my videos on my iphone is not working? Whenever i make videos, there's no sound present. But when i record voicenotes, or listen to music the sound works, it just doesn't work for recording videos anymore. What is wrong?
