I decided to go with pay for service for low income people all you need to do is keep your number active with sprint (i agree they suck) and when new sim card comes in call up new carrier and tell them you need help in getting new sim card activated. May i suggest theses carriers. Virgin Mobile is fabatstic you can earn free minutes by going online view ads every day if they are therre you can get like 100's free minutes to use instaed of your paid for minutes they get used instead
Aslo is T mobile know friends who have them and are happy with them BUT do your due diligence when going with new carrier some bill you for 2 montrhs at a time this might casue you to lose their service because your credit isn't high enough to pay that bill. This happened to my son with sprint about 9 years ago!
I had to use my name to get him signed up with Sprint he had no credit history what so ever and he was under 18

also try comsumer cellular thats my new carrier i get 10 MGB of data and 350 mins anytime for only $24 a month hey i'm not slave to my moblie device i only use it as needed
350 mins will last me a month with mins left over!
