Straignt Talk with iphone 1st Gen?

If I get an iphone 1st gen would I be able to use it with Straight Talk services? I've seen it said that it can be used with newer iphones, but would it still work with the 1st gen?

I know I would have to get a SIM card from Straight Talk for it to work, just would like to know if it would work with the 1st gen iphone.

I've seen quite a few people post that they use the iPhone 3GS on straight talk. Check out some YouTube videos and do a search. I strongly advise though that you get the phone through a reputable source. I've heard of unlocked phones (mainly phones purchased through eBay that are not factory unlocked phones) can become a brick when you do a iOS software update to your phone.

All you would need is a Straight Talk sim card, which is like 14.00 and pop it in to your iPhone and you should be good. Only issue is that some iPhones on Straight Talk are not having MMS capabilities which can suck if you like sending picture messages to people that don't have iPhones. There are ways that I've heard to fix the MMS issue, for some people it works some people it doesn't.

It will, just make sure you get regular sized sim card, and get prepared for having only 2g data.

  • What has an IPhone 5 got that an IPhone 1st generation or 3gs doesn't? I want an IPhone 5 but it's too expensive, I can get an IPhone 1st generation or 3gs but what's the difference?
  • What apps will work on the iPhone 1st generation 3.1.3? I just traded my iPod touch 3rd generation for an iPhone 1st generation. While thinking this was a good deal, I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to get any apps. This iPhone has iOS 3.1.3. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Also, if I jailbreak the iPhone, would this work to get all the apps I want?
  • Thoughts on buying iPhone 1st generation in 2013? Not to use as a phone! (I have the OG Atrix for that) but as a collectors item/something that could hold alot more value in the future. You can get the original iPhone for 50-80 dollars on ebay in pretty good condition, do you guys think that buying a few of them to hold on to would pay off at all in the future (5-10 years from now) when people will begin to want them as collectors items? Or does it not really matter at all once they've been used does that make them junk?
  • Is it still possible to buy an iphone original (1st gen) with a plan? You would have to buy the phone on ebay i guess, right? Then go to Verizon/ AT&T to get it started-Very new to phones as you can see… Oh and the reason why I want the original iphone is because I like old tech.
