Switch from a Droid to an iPhone in the middle of my contract?

I currently have a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. I have had it since March 2012. I have been having problems with it dialing calls on its own (while it has been off of my person and no one around it, with the screen locked). Verizon has already replaced it once and the refurbished replacement they sent me (about a month ago) is starting to do the same thing. This is very problematic (it has even caused problems with my job). I bought a Droid because I didn't want a Mac product, but I'm beginning to think having an iPhone may be my only option to solving this problem.

Does anyone know if Verizon will allow me to switch from a Droid to an iPhone in the middle of my contract period for free because of equipment issues? I obviously wouldn't want the iPhone 5 since it wasn't out when I bought my Droid, but with having so many problems on the Droid system I don't want to keep it any longer.

Stick with the droid iPhone sucks in fact apple sucks

Plain and simple, no. You would have to be within the 2 weeks return policy and still have to pay a $75 restocking fee. What you can do though. Is kill the line your droid maxx is on, sell the droid for approx $300 and then use that money to buy an iphone 5 with a new line. The droid Maxx will still require a $10 monthy charge for the line until the contract ends, But thats the cheapest way you can do it. Sorry to hear about your problems. I was having alot of troubles wit my Droid rezound on verizon too, and I just switched over to the Iphone 5, which was the best decision I have ever made regarding my cellular service.

Most will not but some will offer upgrade plans as long as you extend your contract 2 years on top of your current one. Otherwise you would need to buy the phone yourself and switch it over, but then you don't get the discounted phone price.
