Switching an iPhone 5 from Verizon to tmobile?
I recently broke my tmobile iPhone and the screen won't work at all and have a Verizon iPhone 5 just laying around at our house. I would like to know how I could switch the Verizon iPhone over to tmobile with all my contacts, music, ect and how much would it cost if needed?
There are a few problems with this:
1) If you have no data backups of your old phone (iCloud or iTunes) then you won't be able to get anything back unless it works enough to connect to iTunes.
2) Verizon will need to unlock your iPhone first which they might be willing to do. Give them a call and ask.
If your computer can still recognize your tmobile iPhone when you plug it in. You can use some third party software like this Phone transfer to copy the contacts, music and files from your tmobile iPhone to computer first, and then use iTunes to re-sync the files to your Verizon iPhone 5. This method worked well for me.
