Tell if an iphone 6 has water damage?
(I'm 14 btw) Three weeks ago I dropped my phone accidentally in the toilet. I took it out immediately and switched it off. I took of the case and screen protector. My phone is an iphone 6 by the way. I just told my parents that the phone just stopped working (it is 4 years old). Later this week I'm going to take it to the apple store with my parents. But can they check if there's water damage because I didn't say I dropped it in water. If they find out I lied, I'm screwed. Oh yeah, and also is it possible to replace the battery of a water damaged iphone 6?
Added (1). Also what excuse can I make if they find out? Should I say- it could be the rain?
Added (2). I took my phone into the toilet bcos I was in school and I didn't want someone to take my phone or something so I put it on the window sill thing inside the cubicle. After I flushed the toilet the phone just fell inside.
The Apple store will know. They have indicators in the phone that will tell them if there's water damage. They do that because their warranty specifically excludes water damage.
And how did you manage to drop the phone down the toilet in the first place. What kind of idiot can't even go to the toilet without taking their phone with them?
They will shine a light in the bottom of your phone and see a color (I think pink or blue) that means it's been in water
Yep they will know. Inside under the battery or somewhere under back cover there's a tiny white square tab that will turn pink or red if gets wet and that will tell them its been thru water. Also there will be moisture inside the phone. So yea if you didn't tell them accidently dropped in water there may not be anything they can do about phone!

- My iphone 4 has water damage I have an iPhone 4 that has been water damaged. I do not have apple care or apple insurance. I have assurion insurance, but I had a 60 day claim notice. Unfortunately, the claim expired so they can't help me. If i take my phone to the apple store, will they replace it for the out of warranty cost of $149?
- My iphone 4 has water damage and won't turn on? My water bottle leaked and even though only a few drops of water got on my phone, it won't turn on. I'm immersing it in rice right now, but in case that doesn't work can I take it to the Genius bar? The two external water damage indicators are not red and my phone looks normal. Would they be able to tell anyway? Are there any other remedies other than rice I can use?
