Volume doesn't show on my iPhone 4S?
I dropped my iPhone in the toilet yesterday (well done me) and put it in a container full of rice for a day and the phone itself works fine (thank god).
The only problem is that the volume on the phone doesn't show up.
When I attach headphones it is just like it normally is, however without headphones the speaker doesn't play any music and when you use the volume buttons on the side they don't show up on the screen, or the picture of the speaker on the screen shows but the little white squares underneath do not.
The vibrate function works on my phone as normal, and the speakers work for playing back voice messages, alarms, etc so the speakers aren't shot, it's just when I try to play music.
E.g. On the music app, it doesn't show the volume bar at the bottom whatsoever, it is just missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Please don't go saying "your phone is gone mate, sorry it's shot" because it clearly isn't if it is working as normal besides the volume
Sorry about the phone thing. What may have happened is when it fell I'm the water, the water could have corrode the volume area of your iPhones motherboard which is the main control area of your phone. And (luckily) when you put your phone in rice it could hae soaked up most of the water.
Basically, the water damaged that small little area in which your having problems.
Hope I helped.
The speaker seems to be gone. If this is the case, your phone will only make sounds if connected to a speaker on headphones but not the speakers on the phone itself.
Just make sure that the sound is gone by going into settings and go to sound and raise the sound their. If you have insurance you could get a new phone. The phone itself will be perfectly fine just the speakers and maybe the microphone will be unusable.
- Why doesn't my iPhone 4S volume bar don't work? Okay so I found out like three days ago that my volume doesn't work like once I try pressing on the + or - on the volume it just says ringer and it doesn't go high or low, it also doesn't work for like an app example vine or fun run, or music. I tried going to settings, general, reset, and reset all settings and its still not working.
- Where do I take my iPhone 5 if the volume down button doesn't work? I got the phone like 5 months ago and the button has been broken for about 2 months but now that it's summer and I have more time for music/phone in general it's starting to make me very angry. So would I take it to the Apple store or the Verizon store where I bought the phone?
- Volume on my iPhone 4S doesn't work only when I put the earphones on? Today I tried listening to music on my iPhone 4S, only to find that my volume adjuster had disappeared. And just to clarify, when I say that it disappeared, I mean that when I press the volume buttons on my phone, I see the speaker icon but the gauge bar is gone. When I put my earphones on it works perfectly I tried resetting it but nothing seems to work. I was wondering if I can get a replacement for my phone I have sprint
- My iphone 5 volume down button doesn't work? I was casually watching a video, was a little too loud, so I decided to turn it down. But my - volume button didn't work. The white speaker thing didn't pop up. It's weird though, because I can shake my phone, and it rattles, and when it rattles into a certain spot, the - volume button works again. I'm more than certain its a hardware issue. And help?
