Thinking about getting an iPhone with AT&T?

And I wanted to know if they charge for apps that use the Internet?

Assuming you are in the US, AT&T requires that all smartphone users have a data plan (minimum $20/month), and so if you get an iPhone with AT&T you will have to pay for data.

Now, using apps on smartphones that aren't services provided by the carrier themselves (e.g., Verizon Navigon) will not impact your bill unless using said apps causes you to go over your data plan (in which case you will have to pay for data, not the apps). Also, any paid apps on the iPhone will go through the iTunes store instead of any carrier.
