Thinking of getting new iPhone - will old iPhone work as an iPod without sim?
Am eligible for upgrade and was thinking of giving current iPhone 4 to 8 year old to use as an iPod. Will it work without a sim?
It should work just the same I'm on my old android right now, but they might require you to trade in the old phone considering its called an upgrade

Unless it is a rare unlocked iPhone, you'll need to Jailbreak. I USE MY old 3gs as an iPod.
Yes, it will work the same as the iPod, the only part that will not work is the ability to make calls or use cellular data. You can still access the Internet via Wi-Fi.
