Travelling from US to Europe with an iPhone what can I do about sim cards?
I'm travelling to the UK and Paris next month from California and needed to know how I could get my iPhone to work abroad?
I'm currently with AT&T but could I get a micro sim in the UK and use this whilst I'm there? I really don't know how it works as I don't want to be charged loads when I get back home and wanted to find a cheap way to make phone calls and texts whilst I'm in the UK and Paris.
I live in the UK and if it helps I saw a sim card in the £1 shop at morrisons and it said you can text internationally from just 1p and to text to the USA it was 4p per text.
- Which camera should I bring? Studying abroad in London/Travelling Europe? I have these options: a DSLR Nikon camera, a Sony videocamera (small), or should I buy a digital camera? In addition, i'm bringing my iPhone 5s, which has pretty good quality as well. I'm just afraid I'll lose my DSLR, should I buy a digital camera or take the small videocamera? Suggestions? I will be studying for a semester in London and traveling to a few countries in Europe as well.
- What's the best sim card for using iPhone 5S around Europe? So I'm going to Europe in a couple of weeks and was wondering what my best option if for using my phone. I'm travelling through Italy, Austria, Czech Republic & France. Additionally, would I require a new sim card in those countries to avoid roaming charges or aren't then any in Europe for european sims? Also, it's an iPhone 5S so I need a micro sim… Will that pose an issue? Can you buy sim cards at the airport in Rome?
- If I take my sim card out of my iphone when travelling overseas, will I be charged? I'm off to Thailand tomorrow and have an iPhone 5, locked to Telstra. I'm wanting to take my phone over to use as a camera and then when I get back to my hotel at night upload the photos to instagram using the hotel's Wi-Fi. I was wondering if I take my sim card out and leave it at home (in Australia), is there any way that I will be charged for taking it overseas?
