Which camera should I bring? Studying abroad in London/Travelling Europe?
I have these options: a DSLR Nikon camera, a Sony videocamera (small), or should I buy a digital camera? In addition, i'm bringing my iPhone 5s, which has pretty good quality as well. I'm just afraid I'll lose my DSLR, should I buy a digital camera or take the small videocamera? Suggestions? I will be studying for a semester in London and traveling to a few countries in Europe as well.
I would bring the DSLR. The only situation I can see you having it stolen would be if you were alone and asleep on a train or other public transport. I have traveled all over europe with my dslr without any problems, though most of those trips were by car. My mom got her purse stolen in Italy -- she had it on her back and someone opened the zipper and took her money out. But I had a much more expensive dslr that I kept in front of me at all times and nothing happened. If you are worried, you can get insurance for your camera so that if it does get stolen you can get a new one.
I would bring the smallest camera with you
I got my daughter a Canon that fit into her pocket when she did her travel aboard program to the UK
It was easy to bring with her anywhere and took fantastic photos and have great telephoto zoom capability.
- Which camera is better: An old General Imaging x500 Digital Camera or an iPhone 7 front camera? It looks like an iPhone only offers 7 MP while this camera boasts 16 MP but this camera is so old and looks worse at least on its own screen. I'm confused
- What to do with iPhone while travelling abroad? I'm going to Italy for vacation and I want to bring my iPhone without getting massive phone bills. I'm not gonna call or text but only use it for music, pictures and Wi-Fi. Am I safe if I just turn off data and put my phone on airplane mode?
- What should I turn off/on on my iPhone when travelling abroad? I'm going to Germany for a few days and I'm taking my O2 Pay and Go iPhone5 but what settings should I turn on or off so I don't get charged a stupid amount or use all my top up money? I'm guessing data roaming should be turned off for a start. I do want to post pictures while I'm there though too, should I only do this when I can find a Wi-Fi signal to connect to?
- What are the iPhone restrictions for travelling abroad? Hi:-) I'm travelling to Italy tomorrow for a week. I have an iPhone 4S. I'm looking for a detailed explanation of dos/don'ts with my phone throughout the entire journey - particularly regarding the Internet. Include: - Travelling on a plane to Italy. - What to do with it once I get to Italy. - What to do during my trip. - Travelling home. More info the better, and the main focus of this is No Surprises On Phone Bill!
