Updated my iPhone to iOS 8 now want to downgrade to 7.1 again?
I recently tried out the iPhone iOS 8 by registering my UDID. I used the update for about a week and I got sick of the glitches and how slow my phone was running. Last night I backed up my phone to my iTunes, and then downgraded to 7.1.2. When I try to restore my phone from that back up it won't work because it says my phone isn't running on that software. What can I do? I can't afford to lose all of the stuff from that back up. Also, after I got that message I tried updating to iOS 8 again and my back up won't go onto my phone that way either.
Connect your phone to a computer running iTunes and select the restore phone option. Then select the 7.1 firmware option and presto.
Be sure to backup any important data first and export any password lists from apps etc.
WELL there are some way to restore your backup from iOS 8 to your downgrade iOS 7.1.2 respectively.
Make sure to follow my step:
1.Open Windows Explorer
2. On the address bar type "%appdata%" and press ENTER
3.Open a folder called "Apple Computer"
4.Open a folder called "MobileSynce"
5.Open a folder called "Backup"
Trick Part
6.Select the first folder for the previous backup of your iOS 8
7. After you opened the folder ed8b2b05cb31941b95ea0b39d5ad4f3c013bd842 (Something like this)
8.scroll down all the way until you see a FILE called "Info"
9.Right click open with notepad
10.Once you opened notepad click EDIT and click FIND
11.Type the word "version" and press Find Next ( you need to click a few times until you saw the version)
12. After pressing it you will see the highlight word in your notepad
13.change the version to 7.0 and click save
14.open your itunes and restore the backup that you edited
And you are done.

- My itunes says it hasn't updated een though I updated it? I went to update my iphone and it said I had to update my itunes first and restart my computer (i have a macbook.) So I did all that and went to try and update my phone again and it still said I had to update my itunes first so I did it again and it is still not allowing me to update my iphone. It still says I need the latest version of itunes. What am I do wrong!
