Updated to iOS 7 and lost everything
Yesterday, I updated my iPhone 4S to ios7 and didn't back up. Now, all my contacts, apps, photos and everything is gone. I don't use iCloud. What do I do to recover my things?
If you didn't backup your files and didn't use the iCloud service, you're out of luck. You may want to contact Apple to see if they have any advice.
You didn't back it up, you can't get it back… Apple can't do anything for you for this, so there's no point ringing them up and wasting your time. You can redownload all the apps you hade through your Apple ID.

I updated my iPad II to IOS 7 and didn't back up and didn't loose a thing, not that I an against back up I think it is a given especially a phone. I have a backup phone with contacts on it, one is a pre paid, both android, but never the less. I watched a mate of mine download IOS 7 to his apple phone while waiting in the departure lounge at Gold Coast Airport. No problems. What I'm not sure if it was backed up or not?
Unfortunately, This issue can be solved easily as everything is wiped. Try using a recovery software for iOS

Check and be certain iTunes doesn't have an older backup of your phone assuming you use iTunes even if you didn't back it up when you updated to IOS 7.

- Updated iphone 5 to ios8 and lost photos and access to phototstream? Just updated iphone 5 from ios7 to 8 and now can't access all the photos which were on my photostream? The albums still appear in my phone which i created but there are no photos and none of them have backed up onto my computer. Lost some really important photos so does anyone know how i can find them?
- My itunes says it hasn't updated een though I updated it? I went to update my iphone and it said I had to update my itunes first and restart my computer (i have a macbook.) So I did all that and went to try and update my phone again and it still said I had to update my itunes first so I did it again and it is still not allowing me to update my iphone. It still says I need the latest version of itunes. What am I do wrong!
- Just updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone and it changed my ringtone and don't let me change it back? So I just updated to iOS 8 yesterday, but today all of a sudden my ringtone changed to a ding sound opposed to the original notification noise when I get texts. So I was like okay weird but no big deal I'll just change it back. So I went to settings and sounds and found the original ringtone and chose it. But when I went back out it didn't save. So I kept trying over and over and it still will not save it. It keeps going back to the ding ringtone. Am I doing something wrong? Any help?
- Just updated my iPhone 4s to the IOS 8 update and lost all my stuff So I have ICLOUD on my iPhone and on my mac, but when I updated my phone it restored everything back to from 2013 (2 years ago) so now I don't have my recent contacts and apps and music on the phone. My macbook pro has my recent messages and contacts but I just don't know how to transfer it all of it onto my phone. Or is their another way to get it all back from 20 min ago before I updated my phone?!
