Upgrading your phone saves you money? Verizon?
I recently got into an argument with my s/o about upgrading her phone. She claims that the people working at Verizon told her that upgrading to the iPhone 7 would be cheaper than keeping her iPhone 6. She claims they said that once she finished paying off her iPhone 6 the monthly service fee on her phone would rise over the monthly payment she makes on her phone.
So for example (Numbers are not actual representation.)
She pays $100 a month. $25 is the month service for her phone. $25 is the payment for her phone. $50 is payment for data minutes and texting.
Verizon told her that when she is finished paying off her phone (iPhone 6) The monthly service ($25) would increase to over $50. Meaning that by paying off her phone she would increase her monthly charges to over $100.
Can anyone make sense of this?
She needs to get this in writing, who ever is telling her this is attempting to rip her off.
By service charge do you mean insurance? If so, she'd be better off getting independent insurance. But you have to understand that the average life expectancy of Apple mobile products is under three years, and so any insurance that covers replacement has to reflect this.
All the same the entire plan sounds expensive (though I'm in the UK so prices are substantially lower for higher levels of service).
I think she needs to look at what it charges for a non contract service and see if it's really more than $50 a month.
There's just no way that it would double. The online idiots are paid based on how many people they can get to sign up for a 2 year contract.
By buying a new phone, she's stuck in a 2 year contract. If she finds a better deal, guess what. She can't sign up with another company.
- What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it? I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?
- Upgrading Verizon Phone to Iphone? Today I got a text from Verizon saying that it is time to upgrade my phone, which I'm excited because I thought I had to wait to April. Anyways, how much do you think (if anything) would it cost to upgrade to an Iphone 4? I would look on the website, but I do not have the password. I'm trying to smoothly bring up me getting me an iphone or even a better phone. My dad has an idea that 17 years old should not & do not have iphone/smart phones, when in reality 12 year olds do.
- Iphone saves old numbers under same contact? I have an iphone4 and whenever an old contact gives me their new number i replace it. However, when i go to send that person a message a drop down appears with their old number included. How can i get it to stop remembering the old number bc if they change their number often i could have several to choose from and may not remember which one is the new one So how do keep that from happening?
- Iphone app that saves photos? Is there an iphone app that will save your photos for me. What i mean is that if i take a picture but accidently delete it (being the clumsy person i'm) is there an app that out back it up to somewhere else. I will be going on holiday and i want to take photos but i'm just afraid that i will lose them or something. So there's not an app that i can put my photos in and they can't be deleted?
