Using a SIM card from another phone to an iPhone 4s?
So my aunt recently just got the 5s, she's giving me her old 4s. I was wondering if I could take the sim card from my current phone (Some old Samsung phone) and put it into the 4s. Because the iPhone needs an data plan but I don't want to pay for that.
To sum it up, basically I want the iPhone to have the same phone plan as my current phone.
I don't really know much about how phones work so thanks!
Added (1). What about sim card cutting?
I don't think so.
The phone might reject the SIM card. Maybe you could buy one at the store or contact customer support for more options.
- Will my iPhone sim card be compatible with another phone? I dunked my purse in a river and everything inside (including my iPhone) was ruined. I was able to retrieve the SIM card, however. Will it work with any other phone? At&t is my provider, if that even matters.
- How to activate a new iPhone using a new sim card, while keeping the same phone number? I inserted a new sim card and set up my new phone with no problems, but I'm not able to send or receive phone calls or texts?
- Changing from normal sim card to iPhone 4 sim card? I'm an AT&T customer with a smart phone. I'm wanting to buy an iPhone 4 but I know they take smaller sim cards than normal phones. If I buy an iPhone from an individual, can I take it to AT&T and have them give me a smaller sim card & transfer my information? Would I have to pay extra for it? Is it even possible?
- Can you switch the iPhone 4 SIM card with an iPhone 4S SIM card? My mom has an iPhone 4S for sprint and I have an iPhone 4 for AT&T. Is it possible to switch SIM cards?
