Using Iphone abroad for texting?

I'm spending a couple months in Peru and I don't get any service on my Iphone, but I've found that while in Wi-Fi areas I can send and receive messages to and from other Iphones. I know it won't charge me as I have no service here, but I'm wondering if it will cost the people who i'm texting, especially if they aren't in a Wi-Fi area when sending/receiving the texts

It shouldn't charge them anything.

  • Will I get charged for using my iPhone abroad? I'm going to Holland tomorrow and I was wondering if I would get charged for taking my phone with me? I'm on a pay monthly contract but it doesn't include roaming/ international things… I'm with the 3 network if that makes a difference… I won't be calling anyone or making texts but I'll probably be using Wi-Fi? Will I get charged just for taking my phone to a different country even if I don't use it at all? Any help appreciated, Thanks.
  • While texting on Wi-Fi, am i using data? When i'm on my iphone with all cellular data turned off, using only Wi-Fi, my data isn't being used while texting, right?
  • Using t-mobile internet abroad? I'm going to Spain at the end of the week and I want to use the internet on my phone while I'm there, I've been looking at the internet boosters and wondered how much internet 50mb is? I have an iPhone and I use it for the internet a lot especially Facebook, Twitter and Youtube if that helps. I found the prices of the boosters but what I want to know is how much usage I'll get if I buy the 50mb of internet.
  • Using my mobile abroad, any tips on my situation? I'm travelling to Australia in 2 months I have an iphone 4s that is pretty much falling apart it doesn't work very well. It has 5 months left on the contract which isn't much to pay off, but they can set my phone to use abroad and they told me the service charge minutes and texts. What would you guys recommend i do? As i'm unsure what to do (I might just pay off the contract and get a mobile over there)
