Using stereo speakers on laptop?
How do I use pioneer cassette/cd player speakers on iphone or laptop? Since I think kind of electricity is needed for them to work. But i want to use them like normal speaker on my laptop. Is that possible?
What kind of inputs does the cd player have? If it has a 'line in' or 'aux in' type of input, you should be able to connect to that. If it is headphone-jack style you'll need a cable that has a headphone style plug on each end. If it is RCA (white/red cables), you'll need a cable that goes from a headphone jack to that. Either of those are easy to find at Radio Shack, Best Buy, or Amazon. Then you'd want to put your laptop's volume at about medium and adjust the volume using the CD player. Sound comes through the cleanest when it isn't too loud or too quiet.
That Pioneer player has electronic amplifier inside to power its speakers. You need an amplifier (like a stereo receiver) to power unpowered speakers.
Buy powered computer speakers ($25 to $200) or an AC powered amplifier for stereo speakers ($50 to $3000) or use earbuds or headphones ($1 to $300).
Speakers have no pins at the end of their cables. Cable is directly connected from inside the speakers and two wires from each speaker are separately connected with the cd player, one in black jack and other in red jack. Its not like the head phone cable or normal cable of computer speakers.
- Speakers for my iPhone 5 and my laptop? I'm going to back to school in a few weeks and I want speakers that will service both my iPhone 5 and my laptop. Can I get regular speakers and then just get proper cords to service my iPhone and laptop or do I need something specific that is only made for iPhones and laptops? I haven't bought speakers before and I really want some.
- Should I buy surround 5.1 or stereo speakers for music only? I want to listen to music and get the best out of it, only by plugging my iPhone and laptop flacs to the speakers. Surrounds seem like I get more for the price, but I don't really plan on watching any 5.1 movies ever. What should I aim for?
