Verison iPhone users: is the one gigabyte of data used quickly?

I'm thinking about getting an iPhone i want to get the one gigabyte of data plan. For you personally, does is the one gigabyte of data used fast? What are somethings pas that use a lot of data?

If you primarily use your phone in a Wi-Fi area you could get away with a minimal data plan.

Streaming videos (like youtube) use GOBS of data.
Other things that use some data are Email, surfing the web, downloading/ uploading pictures, social app (such as facebook, twitter), and downloading music.

Quite a bit of "hidden" data use is the constant background updates of certain apps, like email, facebook, breaking news, or facebook. Just make sure you go into the settings of these type apps and uncheck the notifications and updates. If you do this… These apps will only update when you actually use the app.

A study has shown that 90% of smartphone users use under 1Gb of data/ mo, and 96% use under 2Gb of data/ mo.

So if you try to be a little conservative you should be alright… Just watch out for the going over penalty fees. With Verizon the fee is $10 per Gb over. So even if you use 1.00001Gb, you will be charged the extra $10 dollars. Another way to look at it is… That a 2Gb plan is $10 dollars more anyway, so it's not really a penalty so to speak. It's just like a temporary uptick in your choice of plan that month.
