Water damaged iPhone 6? Is it gone forever?

I was stupid and dropped my iphone in water. I've never done anything like this before and I didn't know what to do so I dried it off and put it in rice. I tried to turn it on while it was in rice to see if the screen was damaged and it wasn't so I turned it off again. I tried to turn it on again to see if the water damage wasn't affecting anything else. The touch screen was working and most of my apps were except for snapchat. However this time it turned off itself and tried to reboot but got stuck on the apple logo. Right now its sitting in rice and thats all I can do rn since is late. Do you think its really badly damaged. I'm shaking as this is my first iPhone and i'm scared i will never be able to fix it or that it will be too expensive. I bought the phone off someone else so i can't go to apple can I? It seemed completely fine until it turned back off. I'm so scared.

Put it in a bag of rice in a warm place. Don't touch it for 48 hours. After 48 hours turn it on. If it doesn't turn on it never will.

Leave it off while it's still wet. Water can damage it while it's on. Take it out of the rice every day and shake it to spread the water around so it dries more easily. Leave it in the rice for a few days without turning it on.

  • Water damaged IPhone 4s. Is there hope? Today I idiotically fell into a pool with my iPhone in my pocket. It was submerged for about three seconds and afterward there was no display but it would still vibrate at messages and calls. I shook the water out of it immediately but I couldn't get it in rice for about 20 mins. I took out thr sim card and managed to turn off my phone and I'll let it sit in the rice for 24-48 hours. Is this just a lost cause or is there actually hope in me reviving my "child"

  • My iphone is water damaged, and the incident happened about a month or two ago? So if i were to try to fix it right now by blow drying it and by putting it in rice for a few hours, would there be a chance that it would work?
  • Is my phone gone forever? The other day, I dropped my iPhone 5s in the toilet. It was only in there for 2 seconds but it shut off anyway. I tried to turn it back on (I later learned that it was a mistake) but it didn't. I put it in rice for a day and pulled it out but it still doesn't work?
