What are some good quality cameras?

I'm really into photography and all that but my iphone camera has bad quality my dad is letting me get a camera but i don't know which one to get or what brand is good and it can't be ridiculously expensive we're are not looking to spend a lot.

Added (1). About $200-400

Latest release of Nikon is perfect

How much will be spent?

The Nikon Coolpix p510 is a fantastic camera. It is a single lens camera, 16.1 megapixels, and 42x optical zoom. Its around $350.

I would suggest Canon PowerShot SX50 HS, it's a best advance point and shoot camera that have 12.1MP and 50x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom, 1080p Full HD Video.

There are quite a number of cameras that falls in your range of $200-$400 such as:
FujiFilm FinePix
Panasonic Lumix ZS20
Canon Powershot SX260
Nikon Coolpix P510
Nikon Coolpix L810
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX200
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX150
Canon Powershot SX500

And many more.

That price range puts you into an interesting area for cameras. It goes from some decent point and shoot to the low end DSLR. So in the area you also have the horde of what's called bridge cameras. The person listed as Secret listed some from Nikon and Canon.

Canons T3 can be had on sale with a lens for just under the 400 limit but it is a close in lens. Go shoot telephoto you'll need to buy another lens and that can be expensive. Cure is the bridge type all in one with the ultra zooms.

Canon Sx series
Nikon P510 nice camera but has some minor aberrations.
Pentax X-5
Fuji S-series, SL-series and the HS series (best of these three with EXR sensor system)
Thing is do you want a view finder as well as the LCD screen for composing shots? If yes then those have them but there are other nice cameras that don't from various mfrs.

So best idea is to set down your choices of what you want in the camera and then go a couple of stores and look at the cameras, handle and play with them and look online as well (reviews). The ones that feel the best with the best options for what you want to do will the choice. Some cameras work better in low light than others although some offer the ability to play with settings which means you can still get results. Many bridge type cameras are offering manual controls to aid in picture taking and offering flexibility for different situations.

  • Why does my iPhone receive good quality videos as bad quality videos? So I recently met a famous guy in concert and when I got a picture wth him I was getting a video and my friend used her phone to video it. So she sent it to me and it was like terrible quality and the video was like little with a huge black border around it. But yet it looks perfectly fine on her phone? How do I fix it? Whenever I try to get video editing apps it always says error & only with that particular video. I have an iPhone 5c, and so does my friend.
  • Why do old cameras have awful pic quality although the MP is higher then my phone? So I have an old compact camera with 12.1 MP, which i got around 2010 or 2011. I recently got a charger to charge my old camera to try out cuz I thought it would have a better quality then my iPhone 7 Plus (12MP). But when I tried taking pictures with my old camera it looks like it only have 1MP. I'm so confused because the MP are the same yet the photo quality has such big difference. Any idea why?
  • What cameras have similar quality as Iphone 5? I'm looking for a camera for portrait and scenery photos. I really like the quality of my phone, but I would like something with better zoom that I can put a strap on and get a lot closer. Any ideas? It does not need to be super fancy and expensive, just similar to my phone.
  • What are some really good quality cameras? I'm really interested in photography. I've been inspired ever since I was taking pictures with my best friend's new iPhone, which surprisingly takes really good pictures. Unfortunately, I can't afford an iPhone and don't want one either, and I'm incredibly overwhelmed by all of the choices for cameras. So, my budget is about $250, because I still want some pocket money leftover, and I'm wondering if anyone has tips/camera experience? Please let me know.
