What are some really good quality cameras?

I'm really interested in photography. I've been inspired ever since I was taking pictures with my best friend's new iPhone, which surprisingly takes really good pictures.
Unfortunately, I can't afford an iPhone and don't want one either, and I'm incredibly overwhelmed by all of the choices for cameras.
So, my budget is about $250, because I still want some pocket money leftover, and I'm wondering if anyone has tips/camera experience? Please let me know.

Get a camera like a t1i off of eBay or Amazon for 300 dolors or a canon xsi for 200

I've upgraded to the Canon T3I, but had the T3I when it came out. Was very happy with it, now you can get the T3I on Ebay or Amazon for about your budget. Was very happy with the results, you will also have to consider the lenes once you move forward. The hobby can get a bit pricey, but well worth it.

You won't find anything "really good quality" for that cheap budget. Quality is expensive. Really good,
about $800, good about $600, medium quality about $300.

I would recommend the Nikon Coolpix P510, it takes beautiful 16.1 MP pictures with a large CMOS sensor, records movies in full HD 1080p, and has 42x optical zoom. All that for somewhere between 300 and 350 bucks on Amazon. But I got mine a little back on amazon for 280 (they were having a deal).So if you get it off eBay, you could definitely find one, possibly even a new in box one, within your price range.

Look at the Fujifilm SL300 - it's not great, but it's useful, has a viewfinder and manual controls, takes a rechargeable battery, and you can probably afford it.
