What can I do about getting scammed for an iPhone 8?
I met a lady off Facebook who was selling an "iPhone 8" for 400$. It worked and such when she showed me it. I connected to Wi-Fi when I got home and I found out it's fake because it won't download apps and it doesn't have iTunes. It's worthless and I wasted 400$. Can I report her to the police? What can they do? I don't know her personally bc I found her on the market place on Facebook. I went back to message her and she blocked me!
Yes, by all means file a report with the police. 400 bucks is 400 bucks, and she stole it from you.
The police do not get involved in civil matters. You would have to file a lawsuit in small claims. That would require you to have enough information to identify her.
Based on YOUR details, it isn't fake. YOU just don't know how to use it.
In my state which is, nsw, within the Queen's Commonwealth of Australia - the situation you've described is fraud however, don't think officers will take it too seriously as claims are usually set in court but, if you know where the person resides then feel free to contact police.

If you paid CASH, nothing can be done… But if you paid by check or credit card, you CAN get your money back--a LESSON LEARNED----NEVER PAY CASH FOR ANYTHING, if possible.
Did you get a receipt? If not mark it down as a lesson learned.
