What can i do with my iPhone?

I have the iPhone 4s and have it on a 24 month contract with orange meaning my phone automatically locked to the orange network the first time i put my sim in it. The problem is, i'm moving to study abroad for a year and want to take my iPhone with me.No, i don't want to sell it and buy another one as that has already been suggested but i don't want to be left paying a contract and still have to pay for a new phone. I was wondering, is there anyway i could get my iPhone unlocked so that i can put a sim from another country into it? This way i would avoid extensive calling/texting/data costs and i wouldnt have to get rid of my iPhone or get a new one. Also i want to keep my orange contract open because i will be coming back to the UK at christmas/easter/summer etc.

You can get it unlocked, just find someone in your local area that knows how to do it, strangely the fish & chip shop near me does it, so just ask around a few friends, you'll soon find someone to do it.

Your iphone is unlocked, the contract is only on the sim given not the phone so you can put any sim in your iphone

Yes you should unlock this to get your contacts. You need a gevey sim to unlock this. No exception.

  • What can the iphone 5 or 4s do that the iphone 3gs can't? I mean like distinct features. And are there some apps or stuff like especially for the 4s or 5? Cause I'm thinking about getting an iphone and well they all look the same to me.except of course no front camera on the 3gs but I can live with that. So what should I get?

  • IPhone 5 can't detect Wi-Fi, but iPhone 4 can? My iPhone 5 can't detect Wi-Fi even though the box is next door, I live in a flat. I have to sit in a particular position to actually get it. It happened on holiday as well, the router was like 10 meters away from me outside, while I was inside and it simply could not find the Wi-Fi while my iPhone 4 could. I already removed the network settings, but no change at all. Tips?
