What disorder do you think my 16 year old daughter has?
She talks to heralded frequently, she tries to copy the other teens at school with her brand of clothing, she seems to only want to wear t shirts, jeans, or yoga pants/capris to school and leggings. She also is addicte to her iPhone and never hangs out with other kids and claims they make fun of her and her social skills are bad. She is taking a speech class in high school and has trouble with it because she sucks at public speaking and struggles with non verbal communication. She even had some signs of a non verbal learning disability. I want her to succeed. She has never had any friends and had been bullied for having a ddd cup size. She isn't skinny (160 at 5 foot 3 with a 38ddd cup size) and she eats too much junk food and claims she does it to fill a void. She tried going to a youth group but she is no longer interested and claims that the kids didn't want to be her friend. She doesn't seem to have any talent (can't do anything musical or sports wise) . Should she be forced to attend our baptist church again? Is she retarded?
No, she isn't retarded. She's a teenage girl. If you coax her into going to church, it should be to a youth class/group supervised by an adult, who can make sure she isn't harassed. She is a typical teenager in her dress and desire to fit in with the kids at school. But kids at school are not supervised well enough to stop them from being mean to each other. It's okay if she doesn't excel at any one thing right now. By the time she is 18 she will grow into her body and be more mature mentally. Encourage her to join clubs at school, like a science club, where she might participate in some joint activity without it being a purely social group. She might even enjoy volunteering at an animal shelter or being a candy striper at a hospital or nursing home.
Sounds like anxiety/depression.hard 2 b a teenage girl. The best you can do is be there for her and accept her for her and tell her that this is a normal thing and it sucks but she will get through it.She's not alone. Would recommend her 2find an animal shelter around (humane society near you?)anywhere even a sanctuary and try and volunteer. Animals can do wonders 2 help a person n help her feel needed and accepted. Can definitely help grow confidence and help her find something she's good in. She is prob wearing baggy clothes&leggings 2hide her body. Try getting good but healthy foods and incorporating them in your family's meals. If she's busy volunteering, a good distraction. But DON't get on her about her weight or how unhealthy she is, that will only make her worse and feel as if she can't turn 2 u for support. I know as a mother it can be hard to watch you child go downhill like that. Your not alone.light at end of tunnel. Also anxiety can affect your verbal skills and make your mind blank.

- What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it? I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?
