What do I do now? I'm so done?

People think, what can a 16 year old go through? They have a house, they get fed, they're clothed; they have access to iPhones, computers, watch TV, almost contribute nothing to the house. Perfect life right there, right? They'd be right. Not having to worry about any real responsibilities. But I wanna say something:

I don't feel like my mom is a mom to me in the sense that she's there. She does what a mom (needs) to do; but whenever I go to talk to her about something, she doesn't listen. When I confront her about it, she says she's "listening", yet when I ask her again what I said, she says "I don't know" and moves on to another topic. And then whenever I wanna hang out, she tells me I "can't" because the places are too far and then when I offer to go somewhere closer, she just tells me I can't hang out in general. And then when I don't feel like talking to her; she grounds me for "ignoring" her and how disrespectful. I can talk back to her; but I choose to keep my mouth shut.

It's pretty embarrassing that my sisters are total screw-ups. They depend on my parents for money when they never went to college and aren't doing anything with their lives; yet I'm in high school getting good grades and I receive the most pressure at home. Not to mention, I can't get a girlfriend. I'm sorry but I've asked out like over half of my school and nobody likes me. And I even feel rejected from friends. Maybe I'm venting just because I feel like I have to, but the pressure is killing me. And don't tell me religion, I feel God's even not there. I'm just so done and everyday is like this scary nightmare for me; that I just can't get out of.

I thought you were going to say you had real problems, like physical or sexual abuse. Get a backbone and quit whining.

It natural to feel like this at some point in your life. All you can really do is try to find the positives or something you can enjoy as an escape. When i went through this time i started listening to more and diverse music. I started playing video games and i started watching a wide variety of movies. I found it was a good release for any feelings i had.

"Pressure"? What pressure do you have?

You want to know what REAL pressure is? Look at your mom. You absolutely take it for granted that you have a house to live in, and food on your table, and clothes to wear, and goodies like iPhones and a computer and TV -- but those things don't happen by magic. You have those things because your mom works her but off to earn money to pay for them, AND then comes home from work to cook, clean and do laundry while you sit around and -- you said it yourself -- contribute nothing.

And you have the nerve to complain because your mom is too tired and too many REAL problems on her mind to listen to your spoiled-child whining?

And poor widdle you can't get a girlfriend? Aww. Maybe girls would be more interested in spending time with you if you weren't so obviously desperate to get A girl, ANY girl, to go out with you -- doesn't matter who she is, just as long as she's female and breathing. I mean, you've asked out half the female population of the entire school? Really DUDE?

Ill let you in on one of the secrets of the Universe. OK? Here it is: the world does not owe you anything. NOTHING. Your parents are legally obligated to house, feed, clothe and educate you until you're 18, but after that, they don't owe you anything either. So whatever you have in this world comes from working for it, earning it, and appreciating what you have. Not from whining about what you don't have and complaining that the world is a "scary nightmare" because it isn't exactly to your liking.
