What does the Airplane Mode button on iPhones' do?
I'm going on an airplane soon and I'm quite curious. I have an iPhone 5s
Well, on regular phones, it does not receive messages or calls. It also saves a bit more battery.
Airplane mode is a setting on your phone that lets you turn off the cellular connection, Wi-Fi, FM radio, and Bluetooth on your phone simultaneously. This way you can use other apps (including ones that let you listen to music or watch videos that are on your phone) that don't require a cellular connection.
I would add that the reason for having an airplane mode on a mobile device (shutting off the phone or tablet's cell, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions all with one convenient button) is so those transmitters won't interfere with the plane's takeoff and landing telemetry.
Shortly before they are about to taxi and takeoff, they make an announcement to either put your mobile device in airplane mode or shut it off.
Once the plane is safely in the air, they announce that you can take it out of airplane mode.
Then when the plane is about to land they announce for you to either go back into airplane mode or shut it off again until the plane has safely landed.
- Why does my iPhone act weird when I turn airplane mode off? I use airplane mode all the time (To kill dangerous radiation), but when I'm home alone and my parents need to reach me, I shut it off. My phone sometimes starts acting weird when I do that. It's an iPhone 6s, and about 1 year old. Is it the airplane mode, or is it the sudden radiation messing with the technology? (Parts of my body sometimes start randomly hurting too - Adds to the fact that radiation in our daily life is not good at all.
- What does it mean when you put your iPhone on Airplane Mode? If i go into a different country would it go on roaming? Or does it turn off everything like my text and calls?
- What does airplane mode mean and what is its purpose? I have an iPhone 4 and according to an acquaintance of mine, it helps a person's smart-phone charge faster. What else does it do?
- Wat can one use when using airplane mode? I have an ipad2, iphone 3GS, ipod touch ( 4th gen i think no facetime or camera ) am i able to use apps like facebook, games i have downloaded etc? i'm just curious as to wat i can use while i'm in airplane mode, as it's a little too confusing for me. with wat other people have said.
