My grandma got an Iphone from a friend and gave it to me and we don't know what generation it is, can someone tell me please? The version says 4.2.1 (8C148) and the Model says MB702LL

If it's kind of thick like a flat square cube it's the 4th Generation. If it's skinny it's the 2nd or 3rd.

- Will a case for iPhone 3G fit on a First Generation iPhone? I want to buy a case from eBay but I don't know if it will fit. The case just snaps onto the back
