What happens if an ebay item bid ends and the item price is too low?
Just say an iphone 5s ends up for £50 when the bid is over a d the seller does not want that price?
If the seller doesn't put a reserve amount on it, the phone will sell for whatever the highest bidder bids. So if the starting price is 99p and only one person bids £1, then they have to sell it. If you want to sell the phone for £90, then you need to make sure that the reserve is £90.
You still have to sell it, ebay's like a contract once you put something up aslong as its purchased passed the asking price even if its a dime over its your responsibilty to hand it over.
What the seller wants is irrelevant. By not putting a reserve on the item, the seller was agreeing to accept the highest bid.
If you are not willing to sell the item for £50 you should not put that as a starting price. But if you do and it sells you must complete the deal.
Too bad. You should have listed it at the minimum price you were happy to sell at.
Legally the seller can be sued for breach of contract
Once an auction has ended (ANY auction) then a contract is formed between the seller and a buyer for the seller to hand over the goods for the final auction price, UNLESS it fails to reach a specified reserve price
If the seller aint set a reserve price then he is legally obliged to hand over the goods no matter whether he likes the price or not and can be sued if he don't
However - the buyer may well have a problem in actually exercising the right to sue.
LOL you must be very naive, if you look carefully at that ebay page, it will save "RESERVE PRICE NOT MET".
What that means in simple English is that the seller put it up for auction but set a minimum price that he wanted for it and it never reached it so he won't sell to you.
Sorry but you will never be able to buy an iPhone 5s for £50 unless it is stolen or it is broken.
- Winning a bid on ebay, but decided not to buy? I'm winning a bid for an iPhone 4S on ebay, but before I bidded I only wanted to put it on hold and didn't want anyone to buy it so now I'm the highest bidder and I think I might win. But I'm still looking around and don't wanna buy it. Help how can I get out of this messy situation, I know I stuffed up but I'm not gonna pay for the phone? Do I write the seller a message saying I apologize or what?
- What happens to all the photos etc on my iphone after my contract ends? I'm with O2 and my 24month contract is finished next week. I've chosen not to continue with o2 as I'm giving my mum my phone and she will use her own o2 sim. So what happens to all my photos, videos, apps etc on my iphone 4s? Will everything still be there, just won't be able to phone or text?
- What happens if you buy a iPhone of eBay and it happens to be stolen? I typed in a serial number of an iPhone into apple checker and it said the phone has not been activated? The phone is still sealed in its box is the phone ok to buy?
