What happens if I accidentally called 911?
I had just found out about if you click the power button 5 times in a row on an iPhone, it brings up an emergency menu. I had 3 options on it. It has power off, medical ID, and emergency SOS. Now little old me thought that "oh. Emergency SOS means it's gonna start flashing or making noise. So I swiped that one.UGH. It called 911 without warning. Now I'm hoping that the police don't come to my house. But hey, at least it's not just me. Siri does that, too. If you tell Siri a certain number she does that, too. So is the police gonna com to my house now or what?
They usually call back promptly. I was setting up speed dial and accidentally called them. I hung up and they called back right away. They have caller ID too.
A lot of 911 calls are "pocket dialed." They don't like them of course but they realize that they happen.
The local law enforcement might visit your house to do a welfare visit.
They usually call back right away and ask if there's a problem or if you "butt-dialled".
They will call you back.
Call 911 and tell them what happened, they'll cancel the call.
You ARE NOT dumb enough to believe emergency SOS means Flashing and making noise.
That PROPER action if you mistakenly call 911 is to STAY ON THE LINE and explain what happened. As long as you don't repeatedly make the same mistake, they won't take any action. If you 'accidentally' call several times from the same number, they won't believe it is an accident.
- What should I do if I called 911? Last night I was with friends and my phone must've turned rebooted. My SIM card is locked so upon starting up the phone will ask for a four digit password you can also choose to dial SOS. Just now I looked at my recent calls and saw that I had called 911 last night without my knowledge. The call was placed around 2:30 and it lasted about 34 seconds. Anything I should do. My cell phone carrier is AT&T and I broke my iPhone so I know use a trac phone with my iPhone SIM card. Any advice!

So I was at school and my phone was in my bad and I have the iPhone 11 which I think has an emergency call button which makes it easy to do that by accident. I hear that sound it makes when it makes an emergency call and I tried to stop it as soon as I could I hung up and should not have done that I realized but at the time I didn't know what to do.
