What happens to my phone plan when using an unlocked iphone?
I currently have a unlimited talk/text plan with at&t, I really want an iPhone 4, but my dad doesn't want to upgrade my plan to iPhone, if I were to buy an unlocked iPhone 4, and just put my sim inside, would this change anything on my plan? What I thought is, my plan won't change, I just won't have internet access unless I'm at home on the Wi-Fi internet. But all other features such as talk and text won't change, am I right?
Unlocking a phone just allows you to use whatever sim you want. It doesn't change your plan or get you out of any contracts. If you want to permanently unlock the AT&T iPhone you can do so here: http://gsmunlocklabs.com/unlock-iphone/
Your plan and warranty stay the same. I unlocked my iPhone at: http://www.iphonefort-mobile.com/ and I'm very happy. Using the phone internationally too!
- Will I be able to unlock my iPhone with a home phone plan instead of a wireless plan? I don't have a wireless plan with AT&T but I have a home phone plan does that count towards unlocking requirements? And also can I use a mildly cracked screen as a replacement screen on my iPhone?
- Will an unlocked iPhone originally from Sprint work on an AT&T go phone plan? I found one on eBay, and I'm gonna join the $25 AT&T go phone plan. It's an unlocked iPhone 5c, and it says its originally from sprint, but will work on any gsm network, which AT&T is. But will it work? Or would I be wasting $300?
- What happens if you buy a iPhone of eBay and it happens to be stolen? I typed in a serial number of an iPhone into apple checker and it said the phone has not been activated? The phone is still sealed in its box is the phone ok to buy?
