What is data roaming on Iphone 4s?

I saw the Data Raoming on my new iphone 4s phone, so what it does? Should i on it?

Date roaming refers to using data services (internet, email, downloading applications) in another country. Charges are obviously higher because services are provided by other operators. Data roaming automatically turns off when you cross into another country to prevent your phone from using data services without your permission and inadvertently giving you a huge phone bill, but there's that option to turn it on. When you're in your own country where you got the sim card, it doesn't matter whether you have it on or off.
