I just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 12.0.1 so apparently the support has changed since this article was written… Or not. I know more about Mac computers than iPhone so I'm really not very knowledgeable about this. When I get an 'Update Software' notice I accept, and today it was iOS 12.0.1 so I'm not sure what's changed. It installed successfully so I suppose all is well.
Apologies… I just posted about upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 12.0.1. BUT… The phone is a 5S, so I imagine this is why I could install 12.0.1. My sister gave me the phone a few months ago and thought it was a 5, I should have checked. Very sorry about the error.
