What is your primary cell phone at this moment I have an iPhone 8 was thinking of getting a new one because the battery is bad?
What cell phone would you recommend as a replacement?
IPhone 6, had a battery replacement in Novemeber and it has been running great
Check your battery draining usage. If still issues, get s new battery. Better value than a new phone. I also have an 8 - no issues because I clean up things.
I moved from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone XR after it started having screen issues. If you're happy with the iOS environment then probably either the XS or the XR would be the logical upgrade from an 8, depending on how much you're willing to spend, but the 8 hasn't been out *that* long, so you might want to look to just spending the $80 or so to get the battery replaced.
Replacing the entire phone "because the battery is bad" is like replacing a car because a tire is bad. Just replace the battery. Even it you do that at an Apple Store, replacing the battery will cost about 1/10 the amount of getting a new phone.
If you want a new phone, just say so - and do it because you want the new phone. You don't need the bad battery excuse to justify getting the new phone… Assuming you can afford it…
I haven't got a cell phone.
XR
XR would also make a decent replacement
Could also look into getting the battery replaced at an Apple Store. Would be cheaper than buying a phone.
I'm using the 8 Plus and I have no complaints. It runs well and it's reliable.
The battery works but I do my best to keep it in working order. I try to avoid letting it go below 40% and I try charging it to 95%. Most of the time I'm pretty good about keeping it from going below 60%.
There are a few quirks with Lithium-Ion batteries, and one of those quirks is the cells will die when the charge is too low. Heat damages the battery which also causes the battery to become less efficient. Over time the battery will degrade, no matter what you do, but there are things you can do to make it degrade slower.
Sometimes you will get a phone with a Lemon battery that just doesn't last long.
The iPhone 8 is not even 2 years old yet, and it's not like the new iPhones are significantly better. It really depends on how much it costs to have the battery replaced. I don't think going to the new XR will be much of a benefit for you unless you can make use of it's upgraded features. The latest and greatest iPhones are 5 months away so If you can get the battery swapped for cheap then I'd suggest doing that.
I'm using a blackberry passport. I have three android devices too, though, I hardly use them at all.
Chasing the future is not recommended. Most "new" devices are not even sufficent to replace your perfectly working device. Just replace the battery on your iPhone 8 and save yourself the money. Any irepair shop or phone repair place that deals with apple products will do it for far less than what apple charges.
- Thinking of getting new iPhone - will old iPhone work as an iPod without sim? Am eligible for upgrade and was thinking of giving current iPhone 4 to 8 year old to use as an iPod. Will it work without a sim?
- Thinking of getting a new device, what to do with old one? So I've had an iPod touch 3G for like a few years since my parents got it for me as a birthday present. But now that I got a job and earning money I've been thinking lately of getting an iPhone 5 or another more updated device since they are so much more faster and better! So I was thinking, what should I do with my outdated iPod touch 3G when I get a new device? Destroying it seems like a waste so what are something's I could do?
- Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
- Is only charging your iphone with your laptop bad for the phone's battery? I don't have an outlet by my bed so I use my laptop to charge my phone, but I was just wondering if it was bad for the battery life since it takes slower to charge with the laptop
