What's the simplest way to back up iTunes library?
I haven't updated my iTunes in a while. I updated my iPhone and when I would reconnect it back to my computer, iTunes didn't recognize it. Now, I don't want to lose any of my library when I update to the newest version of iTunes, so what would be the simplest way to back up my library? Pretty please!
**I'm very appreciative of step by step instructions.

- Will downloading a new iTunes ruin my old iTunes library? I tried connecting my new iPhone 5 to my iTunes but it said that it wouldn't connect because my version of iTunes was really old (from 2010) and I never updated. It said I need to download a new version of iTunes (10.7 onwards) for it to be compatible with my iPhone. But my question is, IF I download a new version of iTunes, will all my old songs on my old iTunes disappear? Because if I had to re-download my whole library, I would seriously cry. That would take the rest of my life.

And since iPhone s are TRASH and don't let you use your phone as a storage device, i have to find a way to transfer All of my music from one PC to another. I might just buy a 16 GB SD card. Is there anything easier though
