What sim to use in USA and what travel money card to take?
Anyone know:
1. A cheap mobile sun card that would fit in iPhone 4 that an Aussie could use in the states for a few weeks?
2. Best/ cheapest money/ travellers card to take?
There are only two GSM networks in the US, AT&T and T-Mobile.AT&T has much broader coverage, T-mo is cheaper. There are also resellers like Consumer Cellular. Find a phone store when you get here and see what they have.
For money, most places in the US take Mastercard and Visa, so bring a credit card. For cash, you should be able to use your regular bank card to get cash from machines in the US.
- Will cutting my sim card work to use as a micro sim card? I just ordered an iPhone 4 and I need to cut the sim card to make it a Micro sim. Will it affect it. I have seen a bunch of video and already have the template it for it. I'm using simple mobile. Do you know if anything wrong happen to it?
- When I unlock my iphone can I use a prepaid SIM card when I travel? I live in Germany and a friend sold me her iphone 3gs when her contract was up. She said the phone would be unlocked after a certain date but it hasn't yet. If i do this myself will I be able to use any SIM card? I have 1and1 for phone service and when I travel to the states I get a prepaid SIM from tmobile. Will these work on the iphone too?
- Locked iPhone and need sim card to use because I restarted it but i don't have the specific sim I need. Please i'm desperate? Ok so my aunt got me an iPhone from Canada but its sim locked and it says I need to insert a sim card for it to work. The problem is i don't have a sim from that specific company that locked it and the only thing I can do is emergency calls and all that. I can't even use it as an iTouch or something.
- If I buy a new iPhone, can I take the SIM card out of my old iPhone and use that? I just want to upgrade to a 5S (from a 4S) . My plan is on Straight Talk & I want to purchase the phone from the actual online Apple store.
