Apple is shutting down iTunes?
Hasn't been confirmed yet, it's purely speculation. Pretty sure this one speculated a couple of years back as well
If they do discontinue it then it won't suddenly stop working or disappear from your computer, however you most likely want to avoid updating it just in case.
Wouldn't surprise me if they're doing this to push Apple Music and Apple TV+, splitting iTunes up they'd be able to advertise it a lot harder than in an all-in-one application.
Yes, but what it did would be spread through new apps. Personally I don't like having to deal with multiple apps to do what 1 currently does but apparently I'm by far in the minority with that.
People have found that iTunes has become too bloated.
