What's a Good Camera for a Beginner wanting to start Photography?
Looking to become a photographer, but first let me explain abit about the situation;
Started out as i wanted to become a Mobile Disco for everyone to enjoy, i think that is what i want to with having all the gear i have now bought I don't think i can waste it all and not atleast do a gig with it. Before i wanted to become a DJ, I wanted to become a Photographer I always thought to myself that i could take some great snaps of everything ( I produced a facebook page when i was inspired and took around 7 photos which were quite neat) I said i wanted to do this for a quite awhile but then the ambition kinda stopped and i didn't really take much photos, thats when i decided i was going to be a DJ.
I know the DJing part is not relevant to the question, but I do not want to waste alot of money on a Camera until i know its what i want to do so then i can save up etc. I have seen afew people say that they have used their iPhones as a camera, My iphone is really good ( Its the iPhone 5) however thats not the same as a camera is it!
I'm wanting to know if there's a decent, really really really cheap camera i can use to see if being a photographer is what i want so please could you recommend a camera, thats not too expensive.
Nikon 540
I assume you mean digital, altho it can be fun still using film and 35mm cameras very cheap now. In the digital line you can get 2nd hand on Ebay many different makes and the quality of picture is not that different from a 5 million pixel to even 10 or more. Some of the small digital ones don't work well after a couple of years so don't pay too much, they are convenient to put in a pocket tho. The ones with bigger lenses are good but quite bulky to carry about. I suggest a panasonic, small type as these have a leica lens or a canon small type. The bulkier ones do have good zooms and I suggest again a panasonic bridge camera, you can learn a lot with one of these, don't pay above 40 or 50 pounds for say a FZ20 or far less for a small camera say a DMC LX1, good luck.
NikonD500:)
I don't know man
It's an decent enough question and to be honest you might have the beginnings of something really interesting…
People who are celebrating a special occasion tend to look for venues, entertainment, and perhaps someone to record the occasion on video or by photographing it… So there's a good connection… And since you are interested in Dj-ing… And that's pretty high up on the priority list… When someone is enquiring about you providing the entertainment, you could ask if they have booked a photographer… You've got a decent opportunity to promote yourself…
The real problem for you… Is… Are you good enough? Can you handle the pressure?
Both Dj-ing and Photography aren't as easy and stress free as the TV and Movies make them look… Both are a lot of hassle and hard work… I'd advise you to take your time, if you are seriously interested then take an evening or weekend class in photography at a local college… And i'd also look for some work experience with an established mobile Dj just to help you see what obstacles are out there… In both these activities you are providing a service… It isn't much fun when things go wrong… You need to be prepared for accidents and equipment failure… Just remember it's a celebration or someone's special day that you are involved in… You really don't want to be remembered for ruining it.
