When will I get my iPhone back from the cops? - 1

Back in February of this year, the day after the Broncos vs. Seahawks Super Bowl, I got arrested and my phone taken for evidence. Why? Well, in my class (in a high school where there are cops on campus, I'm under 18) there were two kids about to fight, and I took a video. In the video you can clearly hear me say "He's gonna kick your ***!". Then, they fight, and I film. No one was hurt, not even a scratch/bruise. So they question me and say Miranda's, and then they take my phone and see the clip. They say they're gonna need my phone for evidence, and then they don't when I will get it back. It was an iPhone 5. They also didn't give me a voucher, just a form for my arrest. I got paper arrested for Disorderly Conduct which is a Class 1 Misdemeanor. I've never been arrested before. On the form it states that I will get a call from my probation officer in up to 15 days. To this day, I haven't heard from them since. Over a month. My question is. What's going to happen with me & my phone?

You did not commit any crime, and so should not be afraid of anyone.

Get an adult to help you with the authorities.

Your parent will need to handle this.

Ask your parents c all the police or the local da.

Based solely on your description, you didn't do anything criminal, and it would be pointless to file charges against you. The matter has likely been dropped. The authorities' time is occupied with real criminal matters, so don't expect the authorities to contact you just out of basic courtesy.

A parent will need to help you get your phone back. The police will likely tell you as much if you try to retrieve your cell phone on your own.

As you will read, those who are arrested don't often get a voucher until they request one after their release.

There's always the chance that you won't get your phone back. Once, a cop abruptly drove off with my driver's license during a routine traffic stop. (I never even got a citation.) I called the station, but never got it back. All I could do was make a complaint.
