Why are apple ios devices so amazing?

This is coming from an Android fanboy.
I was always reluctant in trying apple products, I hated them and would always turn off the TV when an iPhone ad came out.
A few weeks ago, I decided to try out an iPhone 5S and the iPad 4.It feels amazingly polished both UI rendering and apps, very user friendly, simplistic yet attractive with it's flat design. The device seems very user centric, it's more about doing things on the apps that make it appealing alone with it's uniform (besides Game Center) edge to edge top notch design both software and hardware wise. It very snappy despite having a 1.3 Ghz dual core.

It doesn't feel anything like an android, android is very amazing when it comes to using the device as a power user just like a computer, I can download non-market apps without rooting, any file types, being able to just drop and play files like a USB drive and the amazing 1080p screens.

Knowing that it the iPhone would compromise what I do on a phone, I decided to pre-order an iPad Air for a general purposes tablet computer.

Why can't other companies do the same?

Their design and hardware is just really good.

After going with apple products, you can't ever really go back to other brands. I just bought an 1100 dollar macbook (which I'm currently using and its worth every dollar.) Like the other person said, their hardware and design is great, very high quality.

Apple has positioned itself in a way that differentiates it from other technology players like Microsoft and Google. Instead of going for mass appeal, they chose to cater to the higher end of the buying spectrum and "engage" enthusiasts with their products. The same philoshophy extends to their engineers and design team.

Steve Jobs lay the groundwork for all that makes Apple unique, and the tradition continues with new iOS and tablet releases. In short, iPads, iPhones and Macs have benefitted from cutting-edge technology and a fantastic mix of hardware-software aesthetics that are driven to perform.
