Why can't i put that much songs on my iphone 5c 16gb?

I have about 2,000 songs on my iTunes & it won't let me put all my songs on my iPhone 5c, only like 1,000 it makes me mad because, i use to have a iphone 4c and it let me put all my songs on their & i had 16 gb also. So i don't understand. Also i had the same apps and the same amount of photos. I'm confused.

Your problem is, the iPhone 4c never existed. Therefore, your imaginary phone could hold unlimited songs

It depends what ios version each phone is running since it uses system storage to store OS information. For example an iPhone 4S running iOS 7 uses 2 GB of system memory while an iPhone 5C uses 3GB of system storage.

Also photos consume more storage the bigger they are. An iPhone 4S has photos that are small compared to a 5C. So when transferring the photos they consume more storage due to increase in screen size.

There wasn't an iPhone 4c btw. Think you meant 4s.

As far as why, app sizes overall may have increased, as well as iOS itself all collectively would have done that.

  • Will a 16GB iPhone 5 have 16GB of space? I want to get an iPhone 5 and the 16GB will suffice, however I'm concerned about the actual space. I have a 32GB iPod Touch but according to iTunes the maximum space available is 28.5GB. Could I expect this sort of thing to happen on the iPhone?
  • Why won't iTunes let me put songs on my iPhone? So I downloaded Eminem's new album from iTunes, and whenever I try to drag the album from my library to my phone, it comes up with a red circles with a line through it where my cursor is, why? I know I have enough space on my iPhone, but I haven't updated it to iOS 6.1.3 yet (I have a 3GS, cause I'm cheap like that) so is that the problem?
  • Why won't iTunes let me put certain songs onto my iPhone? ITunes used to work fine until recently. Now there are certain songs or artists that won't drag and drop onto my iPhone. Any answers?
  • Why does my iPhone 5C 16GB hold so few songs? I recently bought an iPhone 16GB 5C under the impression it could hold around 2500 songs (this is about how much people said) however I have about 5 apps, no photos and only 700 songs, and it's virtually full. Is there anything I can do about this? (I can't return it as I bought it too long ago).
