Why did WhatsApp make its service Lifetime for iPhone and Blackberry, but not Android?

Who knows, obviously there's a business decision behind it. The latest stats show iphone users use their devices 7 times more then any other phones, so I'm sure that plays a big part in business decisions.

That lifetime service extends to those who bought the app when it was $0.99 on those platforms. Back in the day WhatsApp cost $0.99 on BlackBerry & iOS but was free on Android. It ended up being better for the BB & iOS buyers because whereas the Android people have to pay $0.99/yr they got it with no annual charge.

So again, those who bought the app while it was $0.99 now get lifetime service, whereas those are now buying it after the fact get it for free but have to pay the $0.99 annually.
