Why do I look so different in mirror photos and iPhone recording?

How can I see a accurate version of me like how others see me. I look good in mirrors ok in selfies picture on the front cam and so bad on back cam and recording in back cam.

Added (1). And 100% worse like it looks nothing what I look like in the mirror or selfie when I use the iPhone back cam

A good direct picture or video recording
will show you as others see you.

A mirror shows you reversed from
what a camera or another person sees.

A photo or video shot with a mirror
will also produce a reversed result.

To see yourself the right way around from such an image,
look at the reflection of it in a mirror.

This is directly related to the
"What do I really sound like?" question
so often asked here.

Answer:
Make a good-quality recording of yourself
and play it back through a decent set of speakers or headphones. http://keerok.wordpress.com/2014/12/17/which-is-more-accurate-the-camera-or-the-mirror-or-the-most-inconsequential-adolescent-question-of-all-time/

Give yourself 10 more years to outgrow that question. You look different/bad using smartphones because of all smartphones have camera modules that use very wide-angle lenses. As the focal-length of the lens decreases, the angle of view increases. However, wide-angle lenses produce a huge amount of distortion making things closer to the lens, such as your nose, than things further away, such as the rest of your face. This is why you CAN'T look the same in photos made with smartphones, tablets, or any device other than a real camera.

If you take a look at some of the celebrities such as Kim K., when she takes a selfie, she never points the camera at herself at arms length. It's always a reflection of herself in a mirror which won't have that wide-angle distortion because her reflection in the mirror is a 2-D representation won't be distorted by her smartphone.

  • Why do I look so fat in iPhone pictures but good in the mirror? So I've been on a health kick lately and I looked in the mirror today and I thought I looked okay. I was actually happy with my body for once. Later I took a full length pic with my iPhone 5 and I couldn't believe how fat I looked… Omfg I'm so depressed now. I feel like all my hard work eating healthy and exercising was for nothing. Why did I look so fat in my pictures but good in the mirror? Which is more accurate? Ughh
  • Why do I look different on my Iphone camera than in the mirror? When I look at myself on my camera it looks way different than in the mirror. My face looks a lot more flawed on the camera which seems weird since the camera is digital and the mirror is in real life. Which one is more accurate?
