Why do my teeth look yellow on my iphone 6s camera?

I have braces. On my iphone 6s camera, there's like a yellow strip going across my bottom and top rows of teeth. When i go into the bathroom, they look normal. Not too white, but also not disgustingly yellow. Why is my iphone camera so inaccurate?

You can't expect a camera on a mobile to render accurate white balance or colours. If you photographed yourself under incandescent light, there will be a yellow colour shift across the whole image

It MAY be because of a white balance issue. Read your I'phone instructions manual thoroughly and see if there's anything that can be done to correct for white balance under different lighting conditions.

OR you may have had an incandescent light bulb overhead (or nearby) and your teeth reflected the yellow hue cast by incandescent light bulbs. Look up different lighting effects on the Internet so you'll understand. For example, there are some fluorescent lights that emit a sort of bluish green hue (our eyes do not notice because we quickly become accustomed to it, just like we do with incandescent light bulbs).

I went through the trouble of changing all of my lights in my apartment with daylight rated fluorescent light bulbs; any and all photos taken here will not show either the yellowish hue or the blue-green hue.

Next time you look in the bathroom mirror to inspect if your teeth are white, take along a white piece of paper napkin and compare your teeth with the white napkin… Like in the TV ad.
