Why does my clear phone case turn yellow?
Why does my clear iPhone case become yellow and more brown over a couple of months? I thought of buying a new one for next fall. If I leave my new iPhone case un used in a normal environment will the phone case become yellow or just stay the same?
I don't know why. Maybe your sweat does something to it. Mine had been clear for about 3 years. It has scratches but it's not discolored.
If you touch that phone case every day, it will pick up the dirt and oils from your hands, face and transfer to the pores of the case, staining it. Depending on what the case it made if UV rays can also add to the color degrading as well. So if this is a light colored plastic or silicon case, the same thing is going to keep happening. And going in and out of your pockets can transfer dyes from your clothing to the phone case too.
It's because it's cheap plastic with no UV stabilizers in it.
