Why does it say delivered on my iPhone when they have already read it?
I have an iPhone 5s, and the messaging thing is being sorta odd… My friend and I got together and i sent her a smilie face to her iPhone, she had seen it but below the little message it said delivered. Why didn't it say read? Can you help me fix it?
She needs to change a setting in Messages.
You can chose whether people can see when you have read their messages or not.
Settings > Messages > Read Receipts > Turn On
There's an iMessage setting in the receiver's iPhone that will send "read receipts". If she has this setting on disable, then it will only say delivered even if she's read it. Go to Settings - Messages - then turn on "Send Read Receipts" on her phone and then when you send an iMessage to her, it should say "read" when she's opened it up. Hope that helps!
