Why does my phone turn on when I pick it up?

I got an iphone 7 about 2 weeks ago, and every time I pick it up it turns on. In fact, almost every movement that I make with it it turns on. I've tried looking for an option in settings to make it stop doing that but can't seem to find it. (Or at least I don't know what it's called) Does anyone know how to make it stop doing this?

Maybe they think you want to use it

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want that feature. It's to help you see notifications easier. When it's in your pocket it doesn't do that because it has a sensor. Otherwise any battery used by this feature is next to nothing so I wouldn't obsess over it.

In settings→Display & Brightness you can turn off the "raise to wake" feature

Raise to Wake can be enabled or disabled in Settings - Display and Brightness. You do know that in Books app - there are super detailed and searchable directions.

  • Why won't my computer or itunes pick up my itouch? I've had this problem for a while. Before, my computer had no problem picking up my itouch or my iphone. Just today, after I got my computer back from sending it in, it finally picked up my phone. But for some reason, it still won't pick up my itouch. There's nothing wrong with my itouch cord but my computer and my iTunes won't pick up my Ituoch. It doesn't even charge it. What should I do?! I'm literally going crazy.
  • Why does my phone take 2 calls to for it to reach my phone? I have an iPhone 7 plus. When someone calls the first time. It goes straight to voicemail. But after the second time, it finally reaches my phone. Is there anyone way to fix it so that it reaches my phone the first call?
  • Why does my clear phone case turn yellow? Why does my clear iPhone case become yellow and more brown over a couple of months? I thought of buying a new one for next fall. If I leave my new iPhone case un used in a normal environment will the phone case become yellow or just stay the same?
  • Why does iPhone not have the option to require a password to turn the phone off? When someone steals your iPhone, the first thing they do is turn it off, not allowing you to use the GPS function to search for the phone. This means you have 0 time to get a rough idea of where your phone is, as this may still be very useful in tracking your phone. Is it because: 1. They not thought of the idea 2. Apple wants stolen phones in order to increase sales 3. It's a stupid and pointless idea to begin with
