Why is my Iphone 4 screen not working? - 1

I bought an iphone 4 from a friend and the phone worked fine. I updated the phone to IOS6 and then I started having all these problems with the phone. Certain spots on the screen won't respond when you click on it. Now the whole screen won't respond. I took it to the apple store and they didn't know what was wrong with it and wouldn't help me because apparently my friend got the screen replaced and she didn't do it with apple. Can anyone help me? Can I just get the screen replaced would that fix it?

Added (1). I have already restored it and set it up as a new iphone multiple times and I have also tried resetting it by holding the home button and lock button and none of that works.

  • Why is my iPhone 4's touch screen not working well? I have an iPhone 4, and has recently stopped working properly. When I unlock it, it will sometimes take at least 5 swipes to work. It's even worse when I try to put in my passcode. In the middle of playing a game or texting someone, the touch screen will stop working, and I can't tap. The home and power button still work just fine, but I need to power off and then back on again to get it working again. If anyone can help, it is greatly appreciated.
  • Why is apple jumping straight to iphone 8 and not 7s and 7s plus? In the past we saw the 4s,5s,6s,3gs, etc. But why not 7s? Can you tell me why they might be skipping the s series? Or is the iphone 8 going to be called the iphone 7s?
