Why is my USB Port in my Pontiac G6 not playing music anymore?
I bought a used Pontiac G6 a few months ago. It's a 2010. It has a USB port on the radio that charges your device while playing music on it. The port will charge my phone and say "usb device connecting" but then after 5 min of waiting with that phrase on the radio screen, it goes away and continues playing the radio and charging my phone. Basically, it won't connect to my phones music. It was working perfectly fine up until two days ago. Already tried using different chords. No luck. If someone could help me that would be magnificent! I have an aux but I have an iPhone 7 and ordered the aux adapter online for it and it has yet to come in so I'm stuck with no music and it sucks.
The damned radio works, if you'll just try listening to it.
From what i'm am guessing it mighta been a update to the iphone which caused the problem, which is why i hate and will never use a iphone.
One thing i do know apple is very bad about is when you download music and put it on ya phone, apple will not allow any downloaded music to play unless paid for, it causes a issue unless they have done away with that issue due to consumers complaints, one thing id suggest is asking a co-worker or friend to use their phone and see if it works then you will know if it is ya phone or the radio.
LOL, it never played your music. It was playing the radio. It's a USB output. It's design to charge smartphones and other devices. You need to get a HU that has an AUX input.
Try resetting the iPhone.
Reset your phone. It's your phone's software that's screwing up.
Almost all car factory stereos require that the music files are in MP3 format and stored on the root of the drive. Save your files as MP3 and transfer them onto a USB thumb drive to play them. Your GM stereo never did recognize apple formatted music files, they would have only worked if you had them saved on the phone as MP3 files and set the proper condition for the USB port to see the root directory on the phone where the MP3 files are saved in.
This is the second time you have asked this question, and you're not being truthful from the temper you are using when not taking the time to read the cars owners manual for how to properly use the car decks USB port function. The music files can't be in a ("labeled", IE stored in "music" or such lower level "directories" from the USB drive root) for the deck unit to recognize them, the audio files have to be in the root directory and in MP3 format to be played!
Most likely its the phone. I just got a Kia forte and it does not like my windows phone when I plug it in. So I have to play music through Bluetooth instead. My iPod will play music through the usb. The only problem with my ipod is the battery is old and will not charge very well in the car. If your car has Bluetooth try playing music through it.
- Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
- Why is Apple so keen to push USB-C with their Macbooks but they don't include USB-C on the iPhone? It seems like the Macbook department at Apple thinks USB Type C is the best thing since sliced bread but the iPhone department thinks USB Type C is work of the devil.
- Why aren't YouTube videos playing on iPhone anymore? So up until a few days ago I've been able to play any YouTube video on my iPhone 4s as long as I was in "desktop version" for YouTube. I use YouTube's desktop version on my phone because a lot of times the mobile version does not support the videos I want to play. But recently, for most videos in desktop version, I keep getting the message, "sorry this video is not available on this device". Why did this suddenly start happening and what might I do to fix it?
- IPhone 4S stops playing music but shows that its playing? My iPhone 4S is experiencing yet another problem. Now it will randomly stop playing music. The volume slider just disappears and it shows that the song continues to play. I have tried different headphones, no headphones, a hard resart, and twice tried a software reset( once to local backup and once to factory settings). Anybody have any other ideas of what could be wrong?
