Why won't my HP computer let me browse the internet?

Hi, well my HP computer has been acting strange for a while now, but just 2 months ago it hasn't been able to surf the internet. I know it has something to do with the computer itself and not the Wi-Fi, or router. The internet and Wi-Fi is just fine because it's working on my laptop, iphone, ipod, etc. But the HP computer itself won't let me browse the internet. Every time I click on internet Explorer, it immediately says "could not display page" or something like that. And I've looked for every possible way to fix it, but it won't work. And yesterday, I saw I had to update apple software, so when i tried to install it, it said "could not install. Please check internet options" I've looked through all the internet options, no matter what, i can't go online or install anything. I want to call someone to come and see what's wrong with it but if they actually come to my house, it'll be pricey. Thanks so much for your time.

Added (1). OH, and it is connected to the internet 100% sure it is. It's surely connected. And, how do i add something like google chrome, etc, when I can't use the internet? It won't let me.

Install a different browser, like google Chrome or Mozilla firefox. Trying a different browser will at least tell you if the browser is the problem.

If it's a desktop make sure the ethernet cable is plugged in. That's the one that connects the computer to the internet, as desktops don't use Wi-Fi. The cable will be running from your router or modem, to the back of your computer, and in order to pull it out it has a little release you have to push down. If you have extra ethernet cables lying around, try to use them instead. Also, go to "network and internet" from the control panel. This will tell you if your computer is connected to the internet or not.
