Will an IMEI blocked IPhone from England work in Ireland?

I know that a blocked phone from the uk will work in certain countries I.E America, but would an IMEI blocked iPhone from England, work in Ireland ( Dublin to be specific )

For example do England and Ireland share the same IMEI blacklist

IMEIs that are blocked in most western nations will be blocked in all other western nations. So if you have a phone that is IMEI blocked in England it will be blocked in Eire, the USA, Aus, NZ, etc. You might be able to get it to work in obscure parts of Asia or Africa, but that's about it!

A number of years ago, UK blacklisted phones would work in the USA and vice versa, but that is no longer true. As Crim stated, you might be able yo find some carrier in some country that does not honor cell phone blacklists, but you might also find you won't want to live there or find anyone there to sell your phone to.

  • Use IMEI blocked iPhone on another carrier? (Read description first)? The phone was legitimately purchased by me at GameStop. The phone worked for a few seconds and quit on me. By calling 611(the AT&T wireless customer portal), it indicated to me that it's IMEI blocked. I'm using a GoPhone SIM card and was wondering if I could just use T-Mobile instead to use the phone. Edit: I was using an iphone 3G for about a year and then moved my card over to the 4s.
